THE STATUS OF EXARCHATE TEACHERS IN MACEDONIA (FROM THE END OF THE 19TH CENTURY TO BEGINNING OF THE ILINDEN UPRISING)

Summary/Abstract: The works present the position of the exarchate intelligence of the end 19th century to beginning Ilinden uprising. This is a period when the situation in educational terms was complicated. Many of the teachers lost their jobs in exarchate schools or were imprisoned by the Turkish authorities. The schools, churches etc, suffered terribly consequence. Before the start Ilinden uprising many of the teachers entered the ranks of the Internal Organization. The teachers were represented the largest and the most consistent carriers of the political separatism who leading to national liberation.
