Summary/Abstract: The world has been suffering from some unexpected natural and environmental catastrophes like earthquake, flood, draught, tsunami, cyclone, tidal waves, and global warming etc. For the last few decades that have been causing massive disastrous impacts on the lives and livelihoods of people across the globe, particularly in the developing countries like Bangladesh. Bangladesh is threatened with many problems like population explosion, poverty and illiteracy etc. And on top of those salinity intrusion adds extra severe vulnerability and threats to the people of coastal area of southern part of Bangladesh. This paper has initiated to focus mainly on local politics causing salinity along with other natural factors as well as the devastating impacts of salinity on human lives.
