Summary/Abstract: This critique deals with a study named „The Hasanaginica Study from 1646 to Today“, whose author is Vahida Šeremet. It demonstrates how the mere paraphrasing of the sources used and trite interpretation of the verses, as well as emotional elation, unsupported conclusions, scarce additional reading, travelogue passages and ungrammatical sentence structures have all contributed to the stultifying of the Hasanaginica ballad interpretation. The analysis further reveals how the two book reviewers, an academician and a professor, have come to betray their vocation by turning a blind eye to the absence of scientific apparatus and argumentation, which are indispensable for a study. The book is, and not nonironically, then recommended for library use as a proof of utter scientific debasement of the country’s current philology standards.
