Clothing Design Ideas for Reproduction and Recycling in the Context of Sustainable Fashion Design

Summary/Abstract: Sustainable fashion design is the ability to sustain sustainable economic development, environmental and cultural impact by meeting the needs of clothing without jeopardizing the ability of mankind to meet the needs of future generations. Sustainable fashion is the slowing down of fast consumption behavior caused by fast fashion trends and ensuring ecological, social and economic sustainability. Sustainable fashion also aims to preserve the artifacts and artifacts that form the basis of cultural heritage and fashion. This study is part of sustainable fashion design creative reproduction of old clothes old clothes were recycled and used as raw materials for new designs. In this context, clothing design for remanufacturing, the process of re-designing and reusing a used garment without losing its original qualities. Clothing design for recycling is a process in which waste materials are processed as raw material (a new material or fiber), especially for the recovery of materials. Assessment of waste materials is an important element of sustainable fashion. Within the scope of sustainable fashion design in the study, the literature on clothing design for recycling and garment design for recycling has been examined and covered in all aspects, including the fashioners who worked on this area. In the light of the obtained information, sample clothes were designed and produced. The main aim is to prepare innovative garment designs by using reproduction and recycling techniques, emphasizing the reusability through the artistic and aesthetic point of view within the concept of sustainable fashion, to raise awareness about sustainable fashion design. In this way; it is emphasized that technological, methods and trends which have a decisive influence on the society and have continuous development and change and bring new values and perspective to artistic and aesthetic associations in the field of clothing fashion.
