Summary/Abstract: The article describes the life and work of the pianist, composer and piano pedagogue Peter Feuchtwanger. The roots of this Jewish family lie in Feuchtwangen, Germany. The composerʼs surname comes from the name of the town. Peter Feuchtwanger was born in Munich. His family had to immigrate to Palestine during Germanyʼs National Socialist period. While still young, Feuchtwanger taught himself to play piano. From the beginning of learning to play, he was conscious of a technique that he would later pass on as a piano pedagogue – a technique with much more natural fingerings; he wanted the musicians to find their way back to a natural way of playing the piano. Peter Feuchtwanger died in 2016.
