Summary/Abstract: The archaeological record of the Late Roman and Early Migration Period of the territory of south-western Bohemia connected in general with the Přešťovice-Friedenhain group brought during the past 30 years a great amount of new evidence for settlement structure especially around the today’s cities of České Budějovice and Pilsen. Especially by the Middle Danube influed wheel-thrown pottery and fibula from the sites of Zliv, Sedlec and Zbudov the data open an important question of the relations to the sites of the Middle Danube territory of the Late Roman Period. The domestic pottery of the group Přešťovice-Friedenhain of the Late Roman and Early Migration period is however hand-made, fine and decorated with the plastic patterns (oval and oblique faccetes) and is characteristic for the so call. Elbe-Germanic regions of that time. Few finds from the western outskirts of Prague, including two graves with such (imported?) vessels are known also from Prague-Zličín burial ground, perhaps suggest the dating until the second third of the 5th century, i.e. D2–D3 stage. This important finds opens a question of the chronological aspects of the characteristic Přešťovice-Friedenhain pottery, as well as the historical relevance and significance of the areas settled by the people of this group.
