Summary/Abstract: The aim of the text is a reflection on the methods of storytelling in the documentary film about the spiritual dimension of poetry in order to use the indicated film in educational classes. The example is film made by Piotr Załuski, Herbert. Fresco in the church (2005–2006) about Zbigniew Herbert (1924–1998). The methodological tools are semiotics and comparative research. The methodological tools that enable this type of investigation, and are then helpful in the analysis of the research problem posed, are derived from the tradition of semiotics and comparative research. Comparative analyses related to the description of adaptive mechanisms: literature and film, are necessarily in the foreground.
