Summary/Abstract: This paper is one in a series of papers authored by Mahmūd Najm Ābādī. The paper aims to present the position and significance of Ibn Sina in world medicine. In the West, Ibn Sina is better known as a physician then as a philosopher, and, as physician, he left a deeper trace in the West. The extent of his influence in the West was so great that his capital work in medicine Qanoon was used as a textbook in the West until the beginning of the 19th century. The book Qanoon set up a standard of medical knowledge and practice in Europe. It is clear that, given such a great work by Ibn Sina, this paper represents only a small attempt to perceive his position in medicine.
