Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the content, features, results, and addressees of kerygma. Kerygma is the first preaching of God alive, who took part in the history of the Redemption, and still is active in the Church. God can be described as: “Jesus Christ from Nazareth is the long-awaited Messiah, resurrected by God from the dead, in Jesus the eternal life and God’s plan of the Redemption can be found”. Kerygma is of a dynamic, redemptive, authoritative, affirmative, and provocative nature. It is the shortest way to conversion and faith revival. It is directed towards unbelievers and those who forgot about God. Its addressees are also people who were never fully aware of their faith, and practise religion because of cultural and social reasons. In the context of dechristianization. and secularization it is particularly evident that the contemporary Church should be aware not only of the relevance but also necessity to preach kerygma.
