Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is the analysis of the educational services provided by a museum taking as an example the historical museum Basteja in Stargard, in Poland (West Pomeranian Region). This institution could be considered exemplary for the new type of modern museum – the narrative museum. It is situated in one of the lesser towns of Poland. The article enumerates the main educational services, focusing on historical ones. It tells how it is important to build local social awareness and to instill the historical knowledge especially to the young generation living in the small communities.
