Summary/Abstract: The article displays the influence of Christian initiation on the growth of faith. The notion “faith”, which is interwoven throughout the whole process of initiation, is in a certain way defined in the very starting ritual of OICA. There three levels of faith can be distinguished, which at the same time constitute the stages of maturation: faith from creation, from the Gospel and practical, paschal faith, revealed in deeds. All aspects of faith, however, point to the relationship with God. Faith as a topic has been triggered mainly by the needs for evangelization and ecumenical dialogue. Both these challenges demand clear identity of the Church, which is based on the personal relation with God, verified in faith. Christian initiation makes an inspiration and source for the new evangelization and formation of faith, because it developes crucial attributes of the mature faith: the sense of membership (participatio actuosa), community sense (ecclesiality) and sacramental catechesis (mystagogy). These can be achieved through various attempts of coventantal renewal with God, which eventually help to discover faith understood in terms of personal relationship with God.
