Summary/Abstract: The practice of concluding commissioning contracts is increasingly frequently used in various fields of intellectual property, such as works of art and scientific works, software, cinematographic works, audiovisual works, architectural works etc. Nonetheless, the legal regime of the commissioning contract is almost missing from the national regulations and it is completely absent from international conventions, which calls for a scrutiny of the situation.
