Summary/Abstract: The murder of František Novotný in September 1948, approved personally by the head of the State Security, Jindřich Veselý, and carried out by his subordinates, is one of the cases where quite a few facts are still unknown today. His family, friends and researchers have been asking for decades why Novotný had to be eliminated. We are trying to understand and find answers to some of the unanswered questions.
