Summary/Abstract: No one has as yet written a biography of Václav Šturc (1858–1939) and there is not a single study on his life and political work, which are quite difficult to reconstruct from the fragments preserved in the primary sources and scarce mentions in the historical literature. The impression they give, however, is one of a remarkable character who deserves greater attention.
