Summary/Abstract: Thirty years ago, on 1 July 1991, the Warsaw Pact was dissolved in Prague. The anniversary of the dissolution of this military and political alliance of the Soviet Union and the states within its sphere of interest in Europe has traditionally attracted attention from the Czech media. Even though the quality of information presented to the Czech public on these occasions has been improving, many stereotypes can still be seen which considerably ignore the shift in historical research into the Warsaw Pact that has been conducted in recent years.
