Summary/Abstract: Nettle has been consumed for centuries as herbal medicine and food. In spite of its awereness as the use of fibre in many countries in the past, its production decreased to very low levels for various reasons. Nowadays, researches about the natural fiber and ecological product in the textile sector are continuing. While the methods of obtaining fibre from nettle plant have been investigated in various countries, such studies are rarely encountered in our country and it is considered that it is important to evaluate the nettle which grows spontaneously in terms of eliminating the deficiency in this subject. The type of nettle plant collected in this study, which was planned based on this idea, was determined in a laboratory environment; all stages followed from harvest to ring and open-end yarn production were carried out using experimental methods. The numbers of yarns blended with cotton fiber in different proportions were determined and strength tests were carried out. Knitted fabric trial was made with ring yarn; it was determined that the sample study was softer and more elastic than woven fabrics. Although it is seen that the strength value decreases as the nettle rate increases compared to other vegetable fibers, it will be evaluated especially in health and sports areas if a fabric with a soft and flexible surface is obtained due to its medical properties, and ultimately, a bandage that does not require high strength for yarn production performance. It is thought to be suitable for use in such areas.
