Summary/Abstract: The silence of the Istanbul Government in the face of the invasions that began shortly after the signing of the armistice of Mondros United the Turkish nation around the Anatolian movement launched under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Pasha. This resistance movement which started in Anatolia gained an identity with the opening of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and became the legitimate representative of the Turkish Nation. With the opening of the Assembly, the Assembly adopted the law of treason on April 29, 1920 in order to eliminate the authority gap and the threat posed by internal rebellions that had arisen throughout Anatolia. The law of treason adopted during these difficult days of the national struggle registered the legitimacy of the assembly and became a deterrent force in disposing of the actions against the national struggle. In this study, the adoption of the law of treason and the developments after it will be discussed.
