Summary/Abstract: Ensuring economic security is one of the most important challenges faced by the countries. It is particularly important at the time of the COVID-19. It is considered to be a real problem for public finances during the crisis caused by pandemic. The public debt has been increased in a great amount in the short period of time. The text draws attention to the situation of stability of public finances in Poland and changes which took place during the one year’s time. The situation of economic security in Poland against other EU’s Member States has been described on the basis of statistical data.
