Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the issues related to emotional perception of Tatjana Larina’s image developed in the second chapter of the novel Evgenij Onegin by Aleksandr Pushkin. The unity of rhythm and meaning of the poetical text reveals the faculty of harmonious (aesthetic-formal) poetry methods to distinguish the rising action of the novel plot while analyzing it retrospectively. It extends the accepted attitudes of literary theory about ways and means of formation of real “points of rise” (points of plot development) in Pushkin’s poetical texts. The second chapter of the novel contains a fragment of five stanzas (stanzas XXIV–XXVIII and the first four lines of stanza XXIX), which is dedicated to Tatjana Larina, and which sharply distinguishes by rhythmical-harmonious panorama of poetical thought movements against the general background and through emotional relationship it creates a special counterpoint centre of the chapter. A detailed analysis of rhythm and meaning of the fragment reveals that the novel narration is created and developed not only on the basis of metaphorical text elements (as in chapter five) but also with the help of special rhythmical-expressive centres of poetical dynamism. The latter plays a special role of “bifurcation points” (rising action, development) in poetical plot and in the structural-compositional relation it correlates with the harmonious centres of “golden section” of the narration.
