Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to: (a) initiate a discussion on feminist and gender methodologies which are largely missing from Polish research on children and adolescent literature; (b) demonstrate and explain the author’s methodological approach in which the three title categories - body, voice, and story - are applied as analytical tools for exploring the representations of gender in books for children and young adults; and (c) present preliminary results of the author’s research project on subversive and status quo representations of gender in contemporary American and Polish literature for children aged 8-12.
