Summary/Abstract: The desire for ornamentation and embellishment that began with the birth of man has led to the emergence of the art of ornamentation with the desire to replicate what humankind has seen naturally over time. Decorating art reflects the nations’ culture, tradition, emotion and pleasure. It is possible to examine the art of clothing ornamentation in terms of technique, tools, colors, motifs and compositional characteristics. The motifs in painting art are grouped as vegetal, geometric, symbolic, figurative and objective. In the ornaments, the motifs create patterns. The tulip motif, a herbal motif, is the first motif used in Ottoman art. Apparel can be made with methods such as embroidery technique and sewing technique in decoration art. One of the oldest decorative arts, the art of embroidery has emerged with the need to decorate The clothes of people. In this study, the meaning of tulip motif, which has an important place in the art of clothing ornamentation, by examining the use of past tulip motifs in clothing tulip motif blouse designs were made.
