Summary/Abstract: In recent years, due to socio-demographic changes, an increasing share of seniors as active participants in market processes has been observed. The observable phenomenon of the aging of societies is a dynamic, inevitable and irreversible process, and the degree of its advancement largely depends on the phase of socio-economic development of individual countries or regions. In the face of demographic changes in Poland, the silver economy is gaining special significance. Today, these are not only products and services that relate to seniors, but overall activities (social, economic and educational) related to the aging of the society. The subject of the article is the silver economy sector in Warmia and Mazury, and the purpose is an attempt to answer the question about its role and place in the face of the ongoing process of population aging. The article formulates the thesis according to which demographic changes taking place in Warmia and Mazury are a serious challenge for the development of the silver economy (or more broadly: senior policy) in region.
