Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the issue of digital exclusion. At the beginki, the charakterystyce of tnie phenomenon were made, then they were compared with social exclusion. Furthermore, the causes and effects of digital exclusion in various environments were indicated. Finally, the question of how to counteract digital exclusion is answered. It is important here not only to focus on equipping the excluded with equipment and Internet access. At the same time, they should be motivated to take advantage of these benefits and to acquire and further improve digital competences in all social groups. Material and methods. A review of literature. Results. The review of the literature has shown that digital exclusion, by some referred to as the digital divide, is still a current problem. Conclusions. There are activities carried out in Poland aimed at reducing and preventing digital exclusion in various social groups, but this is not possible everywhere (e.g. prisons).
