Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the problems of the rhythmic structures in Greek and Old-Bulgarian prose and poetry. Rhythm and rhythmic patterns, explained in ancient and Byzantine rhetoric and poetics, were adopted by the Old-Bulgarian men of letters and thoroughly introduced in their translations and original works. Examples are given to illustrate the translation of isocolic structures in texts from Preslav – Codex Suprasliensis and Paraenesis of Lesnovo. The conclusion is drawn that the Old-Bulgarian men of letters preserved the artistic features of the Byzantine literature.
