Summary/Abstract: This paper indicates the influence of central banking in Poland on interbank liquidity during a time of low inflation (between 2002 and 2006). It also shows the way interbank liquidity determines the relations between credit institutions and the central bank. Next the liquidity of the banking sector in Poland and its autonomic determinants were characterised as well as the monetary policy instruments used for absorption of liquidity surplus.
