Summary/Abstract: The East European anti-communist exile in the West during the Cold War is still an insufficiently researched topic even a quarter of a century after it ended. Researchers are only slowly managing to uncover the extent of all the activities of the refugees from the countries beyond the Iron Curtain, chart the number of the organisations and associations that were founded, the periodicals published, the various humanitarian, cultural, educational and primarily political projects that were supposed to help defeat the red totalitarian regimes and liberate those European nations that were subjugated by the Soviet power.
