Summary/Abstract: The monstrosity of the Nazi regime consists not only in the number of victims of its campaign of war but above all in the number of civilian victims claimed by Hitler’s regime. The forerunner of the “final solution” was a programme of so-called euthanasia, i.e., “cleansing” the Aryan race of undesirable elements on a – from the Nazis’ perspective – legal basis. Pavel Zeman’s study examines the organisation and execution of these murders.
