Summary/Abstract: The life story of one of the most interesting figures among the ranks of female orders in post-war Czechoslovakia, Vojtěcha Antonie Hasmandová from the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Borromeo, remains inspirational today, in a period when religious rights as an element of commonly recognised human and civil rights are again being trampled underfoot by the newly rampant totalitarianism threatening the democratic world.
