Summary/Abstract: Janusz Kotański’s article tells about the circumstances of Father Jerzy Popiełuszko’s martyr death. He was brutally killed on 19 October 1984. The author precisely describes the methods of Secret Service surveillance that Father Popiełuszko was under. Father Popiełuszko celebrated the famous Masses for the Fatherland and for those who suffer for their homeland. The author says that those masses were carefully observed by the communist Secret Service and Father Popiełuszko’s sermons along with his other statements were recorded and analysed in detail.
