Summary/Abstract: The first goal of the author is to outline the difference between the concepts cause, causality, and determinism. Examining cause and effect as being the two poles of causality, he points at new ontological correlates of the three concepts. His second goal is to show that the competent discussion of the problem about determinism in Bulgaria is impossible because of (1) deliberately restricted access to information on quantum-mechanical studies and (2) the spread of the misleading translation of the term „effect“ in last century, which led to irreparable confusion in the research on this issue.
