Summary/Abstract: This work comes from an effort to reconstruct, in essence, a picturesque segment of relations between Yugoslavia and Gabon, as part of the policy of nonalignment, in the 1970s. Cooperation, which was supposed to be an expression of mutual economic interests, was primarily the fruit of the determination of the highest Yugoslavian state officials of the time. It was based on the awareness of the international, political, social and economic importance of such activities, while the direct, short-term financial interests were often obviously of secondary importance.
