Summary/Abstract: In 2012 and 2013, Kazimierz Braun donated his private archive to the Laboratory of Research on Literary and Cultural Documentation of the University of Rzeszów. The documents and memoirs devoted to the person of Karol Wojtyła – John Paul II are a very important part of the film director’s archive. The teachings given by the bishop of Cracow became the foundation of Braun’s humanistic attitude. He faced an important decision: what should be a source of thinking, an inspiration for action. Wojtyla pointed at ethics as the knowledge of the way of being, behaviour, relations with other people. Kazimierz Braun exposes the highest hierarch as the most influential moral authority for contemporary Christianity.
