Summary/Abstract: The available research demonstrates that the Peppa Pig animated television series can be effective in supporting the teaching of English as a foreign language at the pre-school level. Research also shows that the language of the series reflects authentic language use while at the same time containing features which make understanding and remembering language items easier. The aim of the article is to present a model of English instruction which enables preschool teachers to extend their learners’ exposure to authentic English and which encourages spontaneous language use. In the model, teacher-led activities are intertwined with child-led activities in specially prepared English language areas. The article includes a complete lesson plan to be used in the pre-primary classroom.
