Summary/Abstract: The article suggests an alternative to countless hours children spent in front of various screens nowadays, deprived of interaction with their peers and expecting to be fed information the quick and easy way. Global reading is discussed as a method of developing language skills, both native, as well as foreign, which are so crucial nowadays. While the differences between Glenn Doman’s approach and global reading are carefully pinpointed, the paper also includes 11 steps that the author found most effective when teaching even very small children how to read in English.
