Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the influence of the Romanian language on the Transylvanian-Saxon dialects. Unlike other studies that highlight mainly the lexical borrowings from the Romanian language, the present work insists on the linguistic calques in Romanian and some syntactic influences. Two specialist works are mentioned: Mircea Zdrenghea, "Rumänischdeutsche Sprachbeziehungen", and Grete Klaster-Ungureanu, "Wirtschaftliche und gesellschaftliche Beziehungen zwischen Rumänen und Sachsen im Spiegel des Siebenbürgischen Wortschatzes".The material is then presented grouped into the following categories:1. Linguistic calques: (a) words translated from Romanian to designate notions thatdid not yet have corresponding expressions in the Saxon dialects; b) words from the Saxon dialects which, under the influence of the Romanian language, have received new possibilities for use, or sometimes even new meanings; c) idiomatic expressions translated entirely from Romanian, the basic word of the expression being preserved in its Romanian form. d) idiomatic expressions or even proverbs translated in full, so that the Saxon speaker does not realize the foreign origin of the expression.2. Syntactic constructions. On the basis of the material studied, it is concluded that this kind of loans prove, more than the taking over of isolated words, the existence of close ties between the Romanian people and the Transylvanian Saxons.
