Music Self-education, a Challenge or a Certainty?

Summary/Abstract: The necessity of introducing information and communication technology in education is an actuality subject, being of special relevance also for music education. Starting from ideas already issued in the present magazine as well as from a study carried out on 120 students, this paper aims to bring to attention the expectations of the target educational group regarding the implementation of ICT means in music education, as well as some recommendations on the transposition into practice of these expectations. Music self-education through ICT means presents itself as a real challenge which, in the context of the current mentality of music students, forces us to find the most appropriate expression of its educational existence, which can no longer be ignored by educators.
