The role of the controlled experimentin the methodology of economy

Summary/Abstract: The goal of the article is to propose the placement of the experiment within the cognition process in economic sciences. The study tries to comply the orthodox approach to cognition method with heterodox approach. First it does not treat economy as experimental science, building its method on hypothetically-deductive foundation. Second it attributes controlled experiments with features of the empirical tool, which can strengthen the explanatory potential of the economic theories. The author proposes to recognize experimental methods as a tool of cognition in economy, on the analogy of statistical inference.
