Summary/Abstract: In the pages of the artice, we propose for the first time an analysis of the cycle for piano „Illusions” by V. Ciolac dedicated to his composition teacher P. Rivilis. The work is made up of four parts, which develop predominantly in slow tempo, the basic principle is that of contrast here, it is mostly noticed in the internal sections of each part. Such a representation also offers integrity to the cycle through the obvious similarities of the times that fit within the slow ones and, at the same time, reveals the concept proposed by the author, the description of the most exponential characteristics of his teacher's musical portrait – the calm, refinement, fineness.
