Summary/Abstract: Medieval writing in Serbian lyrical creation in 14th century, by comparing it with Byzantium creation in the same period, becomes the mirror od philosphical and anthropological thought, building the image of the world which can be primarily characterized as seeking the true spirit. The article is primarily focused on aesthetic and ethic norms of Serbian poetry, but also underlines the duality of the relation between the world and the Creator, and the position of the artist between these two powerful realms.
