Summary/Abstract: This paper addresses the issues connected with teaching about nuclear physics in Polish schools. The remarks stem from more than 20 years of observations and interactions with pupils and teachers visiting the National Centre of Nuclear Research in Świerk. There is a great need to conduct such education in an especially committed way and in various contexts. This, however, means not only overcoming organisational challenges, but also the need for a certain holistic perspective in teaching this discipline of physics.
