Summary/Abstract: A new corona virus, SARS-CoV-2, first appeared in Wuhan, in December 2019. The disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 is called COVID-19. Preventive measures should be taken to prevent further spread of infectious disease. Collective immunity is a key concept for epidemic control. Only a portion of the population must be immune to infectious agents, and this can be achieved by overcoming an existing infection or by vaccination. An effective vaccine is the safest way to achieve collective immunity .Aim: The aim of this research is to examine the knowledge and attitudes of students of the Faculty of Health Studies, University of Mostar about the vaccine against COVID-19.Materials and methods: 181 students participated in the study, of which 84% were female and 16%male. The respondents were students of the Faculty of Health Studies, University of Mostar of different fields of study and years. The survey is anonymous and was conducted via Google Forms, which is an integral part of Google Drive. Results: There search found that there is a statistically significant difference in knowledge between undergraduate and graduate students. We found that a higher percentage of female respondents accepted the vaccine against COVID-19. With this research, we found that graduate students show more positive attitudes about the vaccine compared to under graduate students. Students who refuse to receive the vaccine cite insufficient testing of the vaccine as the reason. Conclusion: With this research, we found that students' attitudes are influenced not only by the level of health knowledge, but also by other factors. Further research should include questions about fear of side effects and other factors influencing students’ negative attitudes about COVID-19 vaccine.
