Summary/Abstract: At the State Library of Russia there exists a manuscript that also contains a late Chronograph, which mentions Stephen the Great of Moldavia together with Bogdan Lăpuşneanu. About Stephen, the chronicler noted some data regarding his bravery, naming Bogdan his successor, but identifying him with Bogdan Lăpuşneanu. We believe that this is not a mistake of the chronicler, but rather the creation of a direct and immediate symbolic connection between Bogdan and Stephen the Great.
