LETTERS OF FOUR CAPTAINS FROM THE MILITARY BORDERS OF POTISJE AND POMORIŠJE (NATIONAL ARCHIVE IN SZEGED, 1727–1746)

Summary/Abstract: The paper has prepared for publication the letters of four captains (Pera Segedinac, Arsenije Vujić, Jovan Dumić and Josif Karakasović) from the military borders of Potisje and Pomorišje, which are kept in the National Archive in Szeged (Magyar Nemzeti Levéltár Csongrád Megyei Levéltára, Szeged). The letters were written in the period between 1727 and 1746 in the Serbian language (with rare literary influence) and represent a true treasure since the number of known and preserved letters of these captains is relatively small. In addition to the texts prepared for publication, the paper also the information on the lives and professional careers of these four captains.
