Summary/Abstract: The basic question of my paper is: Do modern Orthodox Christians see their place in active participation in social life, as a form of witnessing to the world of Christ who suffers with the infirm and the sick, which becomes especially important in circumstances such as the current Covid-19 pandemic? That is why I oppose a “proud” (with quotation marks, meaning: self-sufficient) Christian to a socially responsible Christian who understands his faith as a social praxis, not only as a cult-oriented activity.
