Summary/Abstract: United States project to install anti-ballistic missile defenses has become the topic of political debate and controversial discussion. European countries are divided over American anti-missile shield. Some European leaders are concerned that the U.S. system would not be able to protect some EU’ and NATO’ members against such a threat because they are too close to Iran. Some European leaders are also concerned about NATO and the European Union being sidelined. But could Europe develop its own missile defence shield? Can Europe develop its own missile shield? And if not, why not? These are the questions we try to answer in this study.
