The Effect of Entrepreneurial and Market Orientation on Organizational Performance in Hospitality Businesses

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to examine the impact of entrepreneurial orientation and market orientation on the organizational performance (stakeholder performance, human resources management (HRM) performance, process performance) in hospitality businesses. The sample of the study consists of the hospitality businesses located in the Central Anatolia Region.Questionnaire technique was used as data collection tool and 145 valid questionnaires were collected at the end of the research. Factor analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis were used to evaluate the data of the study. According to the results of the regression analysis, it was revealed that both entrepreneurial orientation and market orientation positively affect stakeholder performance, which is a dimension of organizational performance. While it is observed that entrepreneurial orientation has a positive effect on HRM performance, it is seen that market orientation does not affect HRM performance. Contrary to expectations,entrepreneurial and market orientation does not have a significant effect on process performance.
