Summary/Abstract: This article aims to analyse the way Marcus Aurelius relates to the human body. The emperor does not dedicate a distinct part of his writings to this topic, but we can get an idea of his perspective by gathering the sporadic references to the human body in his Meditations. A few questions will find here an answer: what are the component parts of a human being? Where does the human body come from? What is a human body? What is the destiny of the human body? Is our body useful to us? How should we live with this body? Marcus Aurelius’ answers to all these questions are not only explanations in the manner of the Stoic philosophy, but also life lessons.
