Summary/Abstract: The paper presents a royal permission for the Irish Franciscans to reside at Wieluń, granted to them on July 13th, 1645 by Ladislaus IV Vasa, the king of Poland (1632-1648). In accordance with this document, the Polish king gave his full agreement for the settlement of the Irish Franciscans in the city of Wieluń (Greater Poland). The text of the privilege begins and finishes as follows: „A copy of the diploma or privilege of the brightest king of Poland. Ladislaus the Fourth, by grace of God the King of Poland, the Grand Duke of Lithuania, Ruthenia, Prussia, Masovia, Livonia, Samogitia, Smolensk and Czernigov, and the hereditary king of the Swedes, Goths and Vandals. […] Issued in Warsaw on July 13th, 1645, in the twelfth year of our rule in Poland and in thirteenth in Sweden. King Ladislaus. Seal. Thomas Wieyski, royal majesty’s secretary”.
