Summary/Abstract: In many developed countries, measures related to price signals have long been the most important instruments to generate tax revenue for transport. The determination of fuel price elasticities of road freight demand can be used to assess the relevance of these measures. Using the cointegration approach, we estimate the diesel oil price elasticity of road freight traffic in Tunisia using annual data spanning 1997 - 2018. The results indicate that the tonne kilometre elasticity to diesel fuel price is positive and close to 0 contrary to other studies in another country.
