Summary/Abstract: The present scientific study tries to follow, analyze and explain, in the political context generated by the transition of the constitutional system and the transformation of the Romanian political institutions, the shaping of a unique institutional project in a republic: the re-institutionalization of royalty. Structured in two parts, the material will try to highlight that the rediscovery of the crown by Romanians overlapped, especially after 2001 and even after 2007, and the usefulness of the Crown's instruments produced the transition from the status of a non-dominant royal house to that of a distinct actor. The paper will also follow the reactions associated with this subject and will try to project this reality under the concept of "new monarchy". This first part analyzes constitutional issues, the context of post-communism and Eastern Europe, as variables of the institutionalization of royalty and some of the stages preceding the reinstitutionalization of the Royal House, such as the status and actions of the King until NATO and EU accession, but also the creation the first unique institutional instrument of cooperation between a Republican Government and the royal house (2002)
